What Is a Church Member? - Bermie Dizon

What is church membership? That is an important question to this discussion, since we do not all have the same function. We all need to be doing something to benefit the growth of the one body. In a society that applauds self-sufficiency, consumerism, and independence it is easy for us to fall prey to the notion that we do not need each other. But that is completely dispelled by the fact that as Christians we are the body of Christ, members one of another. We belong to Jesus and therefore we belong to each other. Each of us have a God-appointed responsibility in the body of Christ. Passage: Romans 12:3-5

The Parable of the Scoundrel - Bermie Dizon

Considered by many as the most difficult parable to understand. Did Jesus praise the scoundrel manager for his deceitful ways in verse 8? The sermon asks, "Who is your master? God or Money?"

How Much Is Grace? - Bermie Dizon

It is costly because it costs a man his life, and it is grace because it gives a man the only true life. It is costly because it condemns sin, and grace because it justifies the sinner. Above all, it is costly because it cost God the life of his Son: “Ye were bought at a price,” and what has cost God much cannot be cheap for us. Above all, it is grace because God did not reckon his Son too dear a price to pay for our life but delivered him up for us. Costly grace is the Incarnation of God.

Heaven’s Door - Bermie Dizon

When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, Jesus not only gave them a sample prayer but gave them a parable to illustrate his point.... that is, humans definitely have needs. In seeking help, nothing is better than knocking on Heaven's door. The focus in prayer should be on the nature of the Father, whose love and generosity are beyond compare. Confidence and perseverance in prayer are the results of how we understand and know how caring and generous the Father is.
